Beyond
the Moment.

Youth Trauma Recovery Initiative

What happened matters.
Your future still belongs to you.

Violence and loss can interrupt everything. Beyond the Moment is being built to help young people find room to breathe, tools for the hard days, and people to move forward with.

Planned launch · November 2026Contact SnR for launch, location and participation updates.

You can start where you are

You are more than
what you have been through.

Maybe you lost someone. Maybe violence happened around you. Maybe the hardest part has been finding words for what changed. This initiative is designed for young people ages 11–24 affected by violence, trauma, grief, loss or family disruption across Chicago.

You do not need to tell your whole story to ask a question.

Four ways to move forward

Build skills.
Find your voice.

The planned experience brings these supports together around each young person’s needs. Participation is voluntary, with activities adapted for ages 11–14, 15–17 and 18–24.

Social-emotional wellness groups

A space to connect

Small groups to practice handling emotions, grounding yourself, setting boundaries and building relationships. Conversation, movement and real-life practice—with no pressure to share a traumatic experience.

Individual trauma and grief support

Support that meets you

Planned one-to-one support with qualified clinicians: coping skills, grief support, wellness check-ins and help identifying appropriate next steps. In-person, phone or video options will depend on individual needs and service readiness.

Mentorship and life skills

A future you can shape

Structured conversations and practical tools for decisions, healthy relationships, leadership, education and career interests. A place to explore what matters to you and how to take the next step.

Creative expression and enrichment

Your voice has room here

Art, journaling, team-building and strengths-based projects that create room for expression and connection. Two planned youth engagement experiences will bring those skills into shared activities.

Built from the work of showing up

From a moment of crisis.
Toward a life with possibility.

Since 2016, Solutions and Resources has stood with Chicago residents affected by violence and traumatic loss. Beyond the Moment builds on SnR’s established youth support and community relationships, connecting that experience to a structured youth recovery initiative.

The vision is a dependable connection between the moment someone needs help and the support that can follow. Healing has no single timetable. Young people deserve space to move at their own pace.

Organizational leadership: Rev. Dr. Donovan E. Price Sr. · Program direction: Dr. Tiffani Farrow, Director of Trauma-Informed Care & Family Wellness.

Your pace. Your choices.

Support begins
with respect.

  • No forced retelling

You will not be required to describe a traumatic experience in a group.

  • An individual path

The model includes personal goals and alternatives to group participation when appropriate.

  • Room for your beliefs

Religious participation is not a requirement.

  • Practical access matters

Scheduling, privacy and transportation needs are part of planning support.

A little clarity

Before you reach out.

Is Beyond the Moment open now?

This structured initiative is preparing for a planned November 2026 launch. The final location, schedule and participation arrangements are being confirmed. Contact SnR for the latest information. SnR’s established crisis response and youth and family support continue separately.

Who is the program designed for?

Young people ages 11–24 across Chicago who have been affected by community violence, trauma, grief, loss or family disruption. Activities will be adapted by age and individual needs. Contact SnR to discuss fit and availability.

Can a caregiver, school or community partner ask about it?

Yes. Young people may ask directly, and caregivers, schools, healthcare providers and community partners may contact SnR to discuss the program or a possible referral. Beyond the Moment’s direct programming is youth-focused. Please begin with general questions and confirm a suitable private channel before sharing someone’s records or story.

What will participation look like?

The model includes a weekly 60-minute small group, scheduled individual support, mentorship and creative activities. The mix will depend on each young person’s needs. Exact dates, location and service availability will be confirmed before participation.

Does contacting SnR enroll me or request an emergency response?

No. A call or email starts a conversation; it does not confirm enrollment, an appointment or an immediate response. Call 911 for immediate danger or a medical emergency.

A question is enough to begin

There is more
ahead of you.

Ask about Beyond the Moment, discuss a young person’s needs, or explore a referral connection.

Please do not email medical records, case documents, private addresses or other sensitive information. Email is not an emergency channel.
